How we prepare a page
Before publication, an editor checks the page's purpose, jurisdiction, source support, tone, internal links and safety language. A page is not considered complete merely because it is long or targets a search term.
- State the direct answer near the top
- Identify a unique checklist, synthesis, tool or dataset
- Cite every changeable agency instruction or factual claim
- Remove guarantees, pressure language and unsupported deadlines
- Record review status without implying a review happened
Corrections and updates
We evaluate substantive corrections against the cited source and the version of the page that was published. We correct or remove content when instructions are stale, a source disappears or the available support is no longer adequate.
Commercial separation
